Pasukan UIAM yang bertindak sebagai pihak kerajaan berjaya mengalahkan pasukan dari Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) pada pusingan akhir dengan tajuk ‘Dewan ini percaya penghijrahan para ilmuan dari dunia ketiga menjejaskan projek pembangunan’. Chinese Muslims say it is not asking for Bumiputera status

KUALA LUMPUR , Aug 7 ― The local Chinese Muslim community said it is not seeking Bumiputera status as it wants genuine Muslim believers. Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (Macma) president Prof Taufiq Yap Yun Hin said the Bumiputera status was not a necessity for local Muslims who were of Chinese ethnicity. “We don't request for (Bumiputera status); we want Chinese Muslims to sincerely believe in Islam, and not because of the Bumiputera status,” he was quoted saying in a report by local daily Sin Chew Daily. Yap reportedly said Macma would not ask the federal government to grant Bumiputera status for the local Chinese Muslims, but said he believed the community would gladly accept if the government felt the need to do so. IPOH: Police have detained a suspect following a report lodged by a woman who claimed that a relative had forced her two sons to watch a pornographic video on a mobile phone and then imitate the sex acts at her house in Sungai Buloh, Sungai Siput, about 50 kilometres from here. PETALING JAYA : Petaling Jaya District Police are tracking a Honda CR-V sports utility vehicle SUV to assist in investigating the accident involving a motorcycle rider on the SPRINT Highway yesterday. In the incident, 24-year-old motorcycle rider was believed to have slipped into the SUV and injured, which was recorded by other drivers and viral on social media. Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din, said police had obtained the registration number of the SUV. KIRA-kira 15 tan durian mengkal atau tidak masak dalam Festival Durian Kendurian 2017 di Dataran Kemerdekaan, Shah Alam, hari ini dilelong pada harga RM12 sekilogram. Penganjur, Farid Hilmi, 26, berkata, atas permintaan ramai, pihaknya mengambil keputusan menjual durian yang ada itu pada harga seminimum mungkin. "Kami terpaksa menjual durian ini kepada pengunjung disebabkan permintaan yang sangat tinggi walaupun mereka tahu ia mengkal," katanya di Shah Alam, hari ini.
