Police looking for Honda CR-V drivers


PETALING JAYA: Petaling Jaya District Police are tracking a Honda CR-V sports utility vehicle SUV to assist in investigating the accident involving a motorcycle rider on the SPRINT Highway yesterday.

In the incident, 24-year-old motorcycle rider was believed to have slipped into the SUV and injured, which was recorded by other drivers and viral on social media.

Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din, said police had obtained the registration number of the SUV.

He said, so far only a motorcycle rider, a 24-year-old man appeared to report last night.

An initial investigation found that the accident occurred around 1.16 pm when the victim who worked at Atria Soho on his way home at Setia Alam via the highway.

"When the motorcycle rider was on the left lane, the CR-V driver who drove the right lane suddenly changed his path and broke the victim causing him to fall.

"After the collision, the SUV driver did not stop but left the crash site," he said in a statement today.

He said the motorcyclist was injured on the right hand, a small wound on the hand and left elbows.

Mohd Zani said that so far the SUV driver has yet to come up with a report and the revision finds that the vehicle is registered in the name of a company.

The case is being investigated under Rule 10 LN 166/59 for careless driving resulting in an accident.

Earlier, video accidents were believed to have been taken from another vehicle that also went through the viral highway on social media since yesterday. Article-BH
